Hazel
6th June: Southern Counties Ch. show today at Newbury and 'though the weather did it's best to dampen our spirits we had a great day!!! Hazel won the Import Register junior bitch class (3 entries) and beat the Open class winner to be declared Best Import Bitch. Earlier in the day she passed her K.C. Good Citizen Bronze award. I believe she is the first Cirneco to do so.
10th May: Border Counties Hound Club. Hazel Best Import Puppy and Best Import. Thank you to our Judge Ms. Jean Blandford (Flaunden) for her kind words.
7th May: My turn to drive today and Danny and I travelled to Birmingham National where the import register classes were judged by Mrs. Irene McManus. Hazel was placed 2nd behind her sister Bridie who later was awarded Best Import Puppy and Best overall. Well done Jill!
3rd May: Selby C.S. Judge Mr. R. Platt awarded Hazel Best Import Puppy.
2nd May: We had a lovely day at Newark and Notts show today. No Puppy class, so we were pleased to be placed 2nd out of 6 in the Junior class. First place and Best Import puppy was a very smart Eurasier puppy
18th April: Humberside Hound had a new venue this year and apart from a "blip" in the catering department we had a lovely day. Our Judge was Mr. John Steel who I remember showing Fae under when she was a puppy. No puppy class so Hazel was entered in the Post Graduate class. There were 6 other import register hounds entered but they were all unfortunately absent .Hazel was therefore awarded Best Import Puppy and Best Import Hound. On speaking to the owner of the 4 Grand Bleu de Gascoignes entered she explained that they had tipped over a pot of white paint the previous day and now had white "patches ", something highly undesirable in the breed!! Hopefully they suffer no ill effects and will be back in the ring soon.
11th April: Today Danny (Hazels co-owner) and I travelled to the Hound Assoc. of Scotland show at Kelso where Hazel was entered in the A.V.Import puppy class under Hound Specialist Mr.Gavin Robertson (Soletrader) Hazel was placed 1st in the Puppy class and was later awarded Best Import Puppy and Best Import Register overall. We had our photo taken for the dog press. Lovely picture of Hazel , shame about the handler!!
10th April: A short trip over the hill to Lancashire where Mr.Mike Gadsby was to be our judge at Accrington C.S. Unfortunately he was delayed in India so our substitute judge was Mr.Kevin Young. Hazel and I had a lovely day, we won 2 lovely rosettes, a 15kg bag of dog food for Best Import Puppy and Best Import and 2 raffle prizes.
9th March : Hazel passed her K.C. Puppy Foundation Assessment today and now starts her training for her Bronze Good Citizen award. I had been told that Cirneci can be hard to train so I was ready for a challenge, however I had forgotten that she thinks she's a Ridgeback so the task was not as hard as I had anticipated. Like a Ridgeback she can be selectively deaf but when she does hear me she comes back when called, will sit, stay and lie down. The hardest thing to master was the lie down. I thought small dog. easy! have you ever wrestled a ferret!!? but we got there in the end and are now the proud owners of a K.C. Certificate and a pink rosette.
5th March: CRUFTS! Hazel spent most of the day meeting and greeting at the Discover Dogs breed stand. We met up with lots of friends in other breeds and helped Gill celebrate Enyas Best Puppy in Breed award. Hopefully one day we'll have classes of our own!!?
8th February: We travelled to Crewe were we met up with Ridgeback friends Gill Hanson(Illizulu) and Gill Lawless(Faahac). Our judge for Ridgebacks and the Import register was Mrs. Angela Dunkley. Gill was first in the ring with Enya she won the puppy class and Best Puppy in Breed. Gill H.with Issy won the Open class and Best of Breed! Hazel completed a winning trio taking Best Import Puppy and Best Import. Hazels critique reads" " . Time for Best in Show! Although Issy went very well she was unplaced in the final line up. Next up Enya and she did us proud winning.
15th January: An early morning trip to Stafford for Manchester Dog show Society Championship show. Hound Specialist Mrs.Eleanor Bothwell was judging the Import Register classes and placed Hazel 2nd in the Puppy Bitch class.
10th January: Boston &District C.S hold the first Ch. show of the year so after an early start Danny and I arrived at a very cold Newark and Notts. showground. Mixed classes today and quite a good entry. Our judge was Sarah Hatterall and after a very long wait to be judged we were very pleased to be rewarded with Best Import Puppy.
4th January: Our first show of the year, Heywood and Radcliffe C.S. our judge Mr. Martin Sanders (Castellcoch). Hazel won her firat 2 rosettes of the year taking Best Import Puppy and Best Import.
29th November 2008 : Tyne Wear and Tees Hound Club, Hazel Best Puppy and Best Import Register under Hound Specialist Mr. Roy Metcalfe (Metadale)
